With the A5 Neo, atg-LM introduces a new version of the well-proven A5/A6 technology. The basic version of the system is equipped with a universal shuttle system with clamping and tension mode for flexible and rigid board testing. The A5 Neo also comes with soft touch pins reducing the witness marks on the boards.
The A5 Neo combines an affordable technology with all of the enhanced measurement methods of probe systems. With the new pneumatic tension shuttle the A5 Neo can test a wide range of products.

atg-LM is launching an entirely new flying prober generation. The double-sided test system A7 has eight test probes and four high-resolution XGA color cameras for the optical scanning of PCBs. Using modern linear drives, the A7 achieves a test speed which was unimaginable five years ago. Despite high deceleration forces, the extremely torsion resistant and light carbon fiber axes allow precise positioning.
The A7 is our best seller. The system combines high speed, compact size and flexibility.

The Picomat really needs no introduction. This machine is regarded as the ultimate Universal Grid electrical tester. In respect to speed, accuracy and throughput it’s hard to find a machine which can compete. The LM400 Picomat is renowned for its ability to test Medium to High density products without any difficulties. This is due to the combination of the LM fixture, special fixture frames, automatic alignment possibilities and the LM test electronics. 
	The LM400 Picomat comes in 70 mil and 50 mil grids and with the capability of testing up to 1200 boards/h. The Picomat can be equipped with special electronics for process control using Low Ohm measurements.

With high labor costs in Europe and the US, and the surge in labor cost in Asia, automated test solutions are in demand. Automated systems also improve traceability and reduce operator mistakes.
The combination of automation with high throughput test systems is perfect to extend the usage of Flying Probe Testers to mid size production/sample volumes.
Our customer has the choice between three different automation units. Each unit has its own characteristics of throughput, flexibility and product handling.
All automation units are prepared for lights out Operation.

Automated Tester

The A7a is the automation with the highest flexibility. The system can handle shipment panels and big production panels.
The shuttle system can be equipped with clamping or tension bars for flexible products. In addition, the A7a can handle slip Sheets.

The A8a test system provides the flexibility of flying probe testers while delivering high throughput testing for bare board printed circuit boards (PCBs). The target market for the A8a is the electrical test of tablet and PC motherboards and high density interconnect (HDI) products for smart phones.
The A8a is designed for high productivity, reliability and test accuracy. To achieve high throughput the key feature of the A8a is a new dual shuttle system, which reduces the product exchange time to less than 4 seconds in automation mode. In combination with the fast test speed of up to 140 measurements/second the A8a will give customers a competitive test solution for batches up to 5000 boards. A typical cycle time of a 4-up smart phone board is about 2 minutes.
To ensure accuracy the A8a is equipped with eight test heads and four cameras for optical alignment. The A8a is able to test pad sizes down to 35 micron and is capable of testing HDI products for smart phones or tablet and PC motherboards up to a test area of 18.0” x 12.0”. The A8a eliminates limitations due to test point density or fine-pitch contacts and also features embedded component test or a 4-wire Kelvin measurement capability with an accuracy of +/- 0,025 mΩ.
The exchangeable clamping and tension bars can handle thin boards, too.

This new flying probe system is equipped with between 16 and 24 test heads, up to 12 cameras for optical alignment and the latest motion system design with direct linear drive technology for highest accuracy and test speed even on large Format.
The A7-16 is designed for large server and back panel applications for the telecommunication industry. This kind of test products have up to 72 layers with a product weight of up to 30 kg (66 lbs). 100.000 test points are very common on formats of up to 1.5 m (60 inches). In combination with higher density electrical test becomes challenging. Traditional test solutions such as four-head probe systems or multiple oversized test fixtures for grid systems cannot fully meet the requirements in terms of speed and cost.
The system is designed to fully support ease-of-operation and best operator/machine ratio. The horizontal test position provides the advantage that one operator is able to load and unload heavy printed circuit boards. An optional moveable support table, which can be attached to the front of the test system, is available for loading and unloading.

The test heads of an A8-16 are smaller than of an A7. The system provides therefore more heads per test area than an  A7. This means higher speed and throughput. With the A8-16 you shift the economical break-even point towards high quantities.

The S-line is characterized by an outstanding test head technology. Linear motor drives in combination with ceramic air bearing gives the S2-8 plus and S2-16 plus the highest speed and accuracy. The testers are equipped with a dual shuttle system. One shuttle can be unload and load while the board in the second shuttle is tested, maximizing machine utilization.

atg Luther & Maelzer launched the S3, which is able to test 10µm structures while achieving 100 measurements per second. The machine therefore provides the customer with an economical test solution for high end substrates. The S3 provides the highest accuracy with the best performance to test the latest technology of substrate boards. The S3 has a granite frame, which gives the best temperature stability. The high resolution cameras of 1.2 µm per pixel provide the functionality to automatically scan and test 10 µm structures reliably.

S3-8 is the double sided model of the single sided S3 System. The S3-8 has 8 test heads and 2 high resolution cameras, one on the top side and one on the bottom side. The shuttle of the S3-8 can clamp and tension double sided substrate boards. For single sided tests the S3-8 can be equipped with a vacuum shuttle, which can be easily mounted.

The fixture tester **A3030** is often used for automotive and industrial products.
With its 4 -wire Kelvin capabilities, the system can be used for standard and high end PCB test.

The **LM1000** is a highly precise compact step tester for the electrical test of HDI bare boards in mass production. It’s unique concept – based on solid granite – delivers highest accuracy.
Two high resolution cameras (top and bottom) scan the bare board and enable the automatic micro adjustment of the fixtures to the correct position.
The dual shuttle and a dual vacuum handler – driven by fast linear motors – provide high throughput multi-tasking product handling. The machine runs either with universal fixtures up to 6.4″ x 9.6″ test area or with a dedicated fixture. This gives customer the possibility to choose the best price-performance technology for the specific application without being limited by the equipment.
