**In- and Offline Selective Soldering System for Future-Oriented Manufacturing Layouts ** 

ERSA, the world wide technology leader in the field of selective soldering, enhances its portfolio with the ECOCELL, a system ideally suited for the new production methods contemplated by many users. With its counter-clockwise flow, the ECOCELL follows the Toyota principle. The U-shaped layout is ideal for users that plan to manufacture in production islands, yet it can also be integrated, through its side feed, into a production line.  

In the ECOCELL, high throughput and high flexibility are not contradictory. With two preheaters integrated, up to 4 boards can be processed simultaneously, and if a second solder bath is added to the axis, panels can be soldered very efficiently. Likewise, when a single wave pot or two single wave pots are installed, different alloys could be made available on the system. This feature, as well as the possibility to perform maintenance or change nozzles on one of the bath while the other continues to operate, reduces production losses to a minimum.

The well-proven precision spray fluxing system is also installed in the ECOCELL. Thanks to the integrated spray stream monitoring feature, flux application, whether in points or in tracks, is performed with reproducible high quality.

**Small selective soldering system with outstanding technology**

Ersa, the global technology leader in selective soldering systems, has expanded its product range by the ECOSELECT 1: a selective soldering machine requiring less than 3 m² of space - thus fitting optimally into cell production environments. In all process steps the semiautomatic ECOSELECT 1 system uses the same successful and proven Ersa Selective Soldering Technology as the large Ersa VERSAFLOW systems and does not compromise at all in quality and accuracy. Due to its universal pallet fastening, the ECOSELECT 1 can handle PCB sizes of up to 406 x 508 mm [16” x 20”]. The fluxer provides highest positioning accuracy consuming lowest amounts of flux. Numerous control features such as spray monitoring or continuous pressure monitoring of the flux storage tank provide for the outstanding Ersa Process Safety.

VERSAFLOW 4 XL

Due to increasing product changes in electronics production, it is necessary to exchange solder nozzles or readjust flux spray heads or solder pots by hand. The revolutionary VERSAFLUX flux module and VERSAFLEX solder module, which are available for VERSAFLOW 4, set entirely new standards with regard to flexibility and throughput. The VERSAFLUX module can be equipped with up to 4 spray heads installed on two completely independent axis systems, i.e. up to 2 spray heads per axis. Application of the flux to the printed circuit board is monitored by laser - resulting in a safe automated process. 

The VERSAFLEX module as well works with 2 mutually independent axes carrying one solder pot each. Like the already existing Kurtz Ersa dual pot systems the innovative VERSAFLEX module offers substantial added value for the production: doubling of throughput with PCB panels, use of different solder alloys or nozzle shapes without any changes required. Due to the independent axis system, solder pots and spray heads can be adjusted and moved individually in x/y/z-direction. Two operating modes are available: In synchronous mode the 2 axes move in parallel at a predetermined fixed distance to one another, ideal for panel processing. In asynchronous mode each axis follows its own path. However the single assembly is rotated or mirrored within a panel, thanks to the high flexibility of the axes the PCBs are processed automatically and program controlled.

**Ersa CAD Assistant 4 - Ersa solder program creation.**

Ersa’s solder program editor CAD Assistant 4 makes programming a fast, intuitive and comfortable thing. It enables programming offline, while the machine is running. These programs can be used without any detours directly on the machine because of the full integration with the operating software of the machine, ERSASOFT 5.

**VERSASCAN BOARD EXAMINATION**

The VERSASCAN module consists of a stable powder-coated, welded base frame, control cabinet, cover with glass door and a width-adjustable pin and chain conveyor. The X-Y axis system with integrated camera unit enables the recognition of up to 9 multi-codes as well as Bad Board recognition and the PCB direction. By Bad Board Detection, reject parts are detected and not further processed.

A faulty PCB is neither fluxed nor heated and soldered. This saves valuable production time and maximizes throughput. The saved flux, solder and energy lead to a reduction of unit costs. The high-resolution camera of the component recognition takes a picture of the PCB and compares it to a reference image.

VERSASCAN

**VERSAEYE QUALITY ASSURANCE**

The VERSAEYE module is optimized for the inspection of THT solder joints and is, as a separate module, attached to the soldering system, directly after the last soldering module. It can be equipped with up to nine cameras - one bottom and 8 side cameras. The VERSAEYE can move in x-, y- and z- direction to enable an all around inspection of the solder joints in an 45° angle.

It can detect different wetting problems, solder bridges solder balls or missed out pins. The analysis of the solder joints is performed on basis of an algorithm with adjustable tolerances. Thus the VERSAEYE enables the optimal documentation of your solder joint quality on the basis of your individual quality requirements.
